I did not need a transit visa but I had to hustle my way into the flight with lot of talking and had to put up an act , I know it does not sound real , I also told them that my EAD card was my greencard and they bought it , don’t take any chances they ask for a complete document before boarding , get a transit visa , they ask for you to show your greencard.
